A 23-year old woman was transported to hospital with gunshot wounds on Saturday night.
Halifax Regional Police were called to a residence on Spencer Avenue in Spryfield Saturday night after receiving reports of gunshots on the 0-100 block of the street.
The woman was located and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“The investigation is ongoing,” said HRP spokeswoman Theresa Rath. “We do not have any suspect description or suspect vehicle description. We’re going on very limited information.”
The victim and those interviewed on scene are not co-operating with the investigation, and police do not believe it was a random act.
According to Rath, there was no weapon seized in relation to the shooting, and police do not currently know the type of gun used.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to contact either HRP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
