The woman missing off the Chehalis River in Chilliwack has been found alive.
RCMP Const. Mark Pelz said the 43-year-old woman went missing after leaving the campground where her family was staying and floated down the river on an air mattress late Saturday night.
“She spent the night there and is a smoker so she had a lighter and was able to start a fire,” Pelz said.
He said a “massive amount” of alcohol was involved in the incident.
Const. Leanne Dunlop said the woman was able to walk out of the area on her own and is fine, other than suffering from a few scrapes and bruises.
