A city woman is in serious condition after she was hit by a car on the Vanier Parkway on Wednesday morning.
At 8:28 a.m., Ottawa paramedics got a call of a female pedestrian who was struck by a car on the Vanier Parkway at Queen Mary, said paramedic spokesman J.P.Trottier.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found a woman in her 30s who was unconscious, Trottier said.
The woman, who was believed to have been crossing the road at the time of the incident, suffered serious head injuries, a fractured clavicle and a separated shoulder. She regained consciousness en route to the hospital, Trottier said.
Although her condition improved slightly in hospital, she is still considered to be in serious condition, Trottier said.
The car was seriously damaged, but there is no information on whether the driver was hurt.
