A woman was sent to the QEII Health Sciences Centre with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a fire truck yesterday afternoon in Lower Sackville.
Halifax RCMP say the fire truck was responding to a call with its lights and sirens on when a woman walked into the street in front of the moving vehicle on Glendale Drive near the intersection of Pinehill Drive.
The woman, in her mid-20s, then appeared to stop in the middle of the road, RCMP say. She was struck by the fire truck and taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
