A 28-year-old construction worker suffered shoulder and leg injuries after being thrown from a backhoe after it fell into a six-foot trench Tuesday.
Ottawa paramedics responded to a worksite accident on Dunham Street just before 10:30 a.m.
A construction worker was using a small backhoe to dig a trench along the foundation of an existing home when the machine fell into the six-foot-deep trench, paramedics said.
The operator was thrown from the machine and paramedics treated him at the scene.
He was not taken to hospital.
