Five airport employees have been charged with drug offences after a 10-month drug trafficking investigation.

Police said the group used their employment as baggage handlers and cabin cleaners at Pearson International Airport to facilitate the movement of illicit drugs into Canada by using various chartered airlines.

The drugs were concealed in suitcases or inside various spots in Toronto-bound airplanes, said Sgt. Marc LaPorte, spokesperson from the RCMP.
