MONTREAL – Xebec Adsorption Inc. (TSX:XBC) will supply a biogas upgrading plant to tap energy from food waste under a $2.2-million contract announced Wednesday.
The order was placed by Potlatch Inc.
The new plant is expected to be commissioned and started up in the second half of this year, Xebec said.
Xebec’s plant will upgrade biogas generated from the digestion of food waste, producing compressed natural gas to be used as vehicle fuel for a fleet of municipal buses.
It’s the second biogas upgrading plant in South Korea supplied by Xebec , following one operating at the Sudokwon landfill site in Incheon.
