Where: Eden Valley and Barossa Valley, South Australia
Why: Yalumba is the oldest family owned winery in Australia and is renowned for their remarkable consistency and quality products. The entry-level, Y-Series range is no exception. This crisp, fresh wine has lovely lime and grapefruit aromas. The lively palate echoes the citrus notes, adding in delicate orange blossoms, clover honey and mineral notes. Elegant and round in the mouth, with zippy acidity and a refreshing finish.
When: This month. Fifth generation Yalumba owner Robert Hill Smith and world-travelling winemaker Jane Ferrari will be in attendance throughout festival week (see Winespeak). Though a delight sipped solo, this Riesling can also take on strong flavours — try with Asian dishes -—lemongrass and tropical fruit flavours get you bonus marks
