Young Boys lets Sutter discuss move to Blackburn

BERN, Switzerland – Swiss club Young Boys says Switzerland defender Scott Sutter has left its winter training camp in Spain to open contract talks with Blackburn.

Young Boys says in a statement that it won’t block Sutter from fulfilling his dream to play in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old Sutter was born in England but is eligible to represent Switzerland through his Swiss father. He played two international matches in 2010.

Despite being third in the Swiss League, Young Boys allowed Switzerland defender Francois Affolter to join Werder Bremen on loan this week.

Blackburn is 18th in the 20-team Premier league and has faced a seasonlong battle against relegation.
