Young mother killed in Surrey drive-by shooting identified

Police have identified the woman killed in a drive-by-shooting in Surrey on Monday as 23-year-old Nicole Marie Alemy from White Rock.

Alemy was shot three times while driving her husband’s Cadillac down 148th Street at around 10:30 a.m.

Her four-year-old son was in the back seat at the time but wasn’t hurt.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said the boy is being kept in the care of the province for his own safety.

According to media reports, the victim’s husband, Koshan Alemy is a known member of the UN gang.

RCMP Cpl. Dale Carr said police are investigating the possibility the victim was killed in a case of mistaken identity.
