A 16-year-old male has been charged in connection with two separate east-end robberies that took place at TD Canada Trust banks in mid-February.
The accused, who cannot be named because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of wearing a disguise during the commission of an offence, and failure to comply with a youth sentence.
On Feb. 18, Ottawa police officers responded to a call just before 8 p.m. at a TD Canada Trust bank on Montreal Road, where a person had entered the bank, passed a note demanding money and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Two days later, at about 7:15 p.m. a person repeated those steps at another TD Canada Trust branch, located on Watters Road.
