Two 16-year-old youth are facing charges after a teen was stabbed on the corner of Robie and Cunard streets on Monday night.

Police say the stabbing took place around 9:30 p.m. after two groups of youth known to each other met in regards to the retrieving of a missing wallet.

The meeting led to a physical altercation, police allege, with a 17-year-old male stabbed once in the abdomen. He was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuriy
Halifax Regional Police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said officers arrived on scene shortly after the altercation began and two youth were arrested.

They were later charged with on various weapons and disturbance related offences.

Palmeter said more charges are possible from the incident.
