TORONTO – The New York Giants’ thrilling win over the San Francisco 49ers was the most-watched television program in Canada on Sunday night, according to CTV.
The Giants’ overtime victory attracted an average audience of 2.4 million viewers on CTV, according to overnight data from BBM Canada. That made it the most-watched program Sunday night, the network announced.
Earlier on Sunday, the AFC title game between the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens drew an average audience of 2.05 million viewers on CTV. That was a two per cent increase over last year’s afternoon championship game between Green Bay and Chicago.
Overall, more than 10.8 million Canadians watched some or all of the NFL conference finals Sunday on CTV.
