NFL Roundup: Week 2

The first halves of the early games of Week 2 were pretty uneventful, but the action certainly picked up in the second halves with plenty of comebacks and unbelievable finishes. Here is the Week 2 early games wrap up:

Buffalo Bills 35 Kansas City 17

The Bills bounced back nicely following their blowout loss to the New York Jets in Week 1 as the score wasn’t indicative of just how much the Bills dominated play as they led 35-3 late in the third quarter. C.J. Spiller rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.

Cincinnati Bengals 34 Cleveland Browns 27

The Bengals were able to hold on against the Browns to earn their first win of the 2012 season. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns in the win, while Browns rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden recovered from a tough Week 1 by throwing for 322 yards and three touchdowns despite the loss.

Indianapolis Colts 23 Minnesota Vikings 20

The Vikings scored 14 fourth quarter points to tie the game at 20, but an Adam Vinatieri field goal with eight seconds remaining gave the Colts the win. Colts rookie quarterback Andrew Luck threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns in his first career NFL win.

Miami Dolphins 35 Oakland Raiders 13

Led by running back Reggie Bush the Dolphins rolled to a blowout win for their first win of the year as Bush ran for 172 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching three passes for 25 yards. The Raiders drop to 0-2.

New York Giants 41 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 34

The teams combined for 32 points in a wild fourth quarter, which saw the Giants come back from a 27-16 deficit and earn a seven-point win. The Giants went ahead 34-27 with four minutes left, then the Bucs tied it with just under two minutes remaining before Andre Brown’s two-yard touchdown run with 31 seconds left gave the Giants the win. Eli Manning threw for 510 yards and three touchdowns.

Philadelphia Eagles 24 Baltimore Ravens 23

Trailing 23-17 with just under four minutes remaining Michael Vick led the Eagles down the field and finished the drive off with a 1-yard touchdown run with just under two minutes to play giving the Eagles a one-point win. Vick threw for 371 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

Carolina Panthers 35 New Orleans Saints 27

The Panthers withstood a late Saints comeback to hold on for an eight-point win as four different Panther players scored touchdowns. Saints quarterback Drew Brees threw for 325 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the loss. The Saints are now 0-2, while the Panthers are 1-1.

Houston Texans 27 Jacksonville Jaguars 7

Houston rushed for 216 yards and three touchdowns in their blowout win in Jacksonville. The Texans dominated the time of possession 43:17 to 16:43. The Texans are now 2-0, while the Jaguars fall to 0-2.
