NFL wives had their own moment in the spotlight Super Bowl weekend when they tackled the runway at Saks Fifth Avenue to celebrate the Off the Field Players’ Wives Association in their 13th Annual Charity Fashion Show. Off the Field Players’ Wives Association (OFTPWA) is a charity comprised of wives of active and retired NFL players whose work supports children, women, and families in need.
For the past 13 years, OTFPWA has donated benefits from the fashion show to a local charity in the Super Bowl’s host city. This year’s show benefited Girls Educational and Mentoring Services (GEMS) in New York City, a non-profit dedicated to empowering girls and young women who have experienced commercial exploitation and domestic trafficking.
The women of Off the Field not only brought the event together, but also played center in the fashion show. Many of the wives took the runway sporting Saks Fifth Avenue’s upcoming spring collection with vibrant colors and stylish summer dresses.
Dawn Neufeld, wife of Ryan Neufeld and host of this year’s show told Metro, “I’ve seen all the clothes and they look fantastic! There’s a lot of color and the ladies are working it.”
Jennilyn DeJesus, girlfriend of Seahawks’ Doug Baldwin, shared one of her go-to looks: “For spring attire, I think you can always do well with a blazer and a nice dress.”
Pat Smith, wife of Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith and honoree of Off the Field, said the women first came together when they started a prayer group five years ago: “We meet once a month, and it started with prayer for our husbands. We had to make some boundaries for ourselves: no food, no gossip, only prayer. And from that we have built the most amazing network of sisterhood.”
