An early morning fire at a home in rural south Ottawa has left at least two people homeless.
Fire crews responded to an emergency call at 5390 Sand Rd. around 5 a.m. yesterday.
The fire is believed to have started in a second floor laundry room and extended into the attic and first floor before firefighters arrived.
The fire was under control shortly after 6 a.m., but the entire north side of the building was destroyed. The homeowners escaped the fire uninjured.
