No parking along Central Park West during Pope Francis’ visit

New Yorkers who park along Central Park West need to find a new spot for their ride next week.

There will be no parking on both sides of Central Park West from West 59th Street to West 81st Street starting at midnight on Wednesday,Sept. 23 through 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25,according to a tweet by the NYPD 20th Precinct on Wednesday.

An estimated 80,000 people will see Pope Francis during his procession through Central Park, which starts at 5 p.m. on Friday.

Police Commissioner Bill Brattonhascalled the pope’s visit next week — which coincides with the UnitedNationsGeneral Assembly with 90 percent of the world’s leaders set to attend —as the “largest security challenge the city and this department has ever faced.”

Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday that New Yorkers are used to living in a capital city and can “handle” the street closures and inconveniences.”
