No selfie sticks, backpacks, laser pointers allowed at Pope Francis’ Central Park procession

The city has already notified most of the 80,000 New Yorkers expected to watch Pope Francis travel through Central Park, but officials want to make sure they know what not to bring.

Attendees are free to bring water and a snack, as well as personal cameras.

The list of prohibited items is quite a bit longer, and includes pets, selfie sticks, laser pointers, drones and more.

“We believe that this event is going to be the largest security challenge the city and this department has ever faced,” Commissioner Bill Bratton told reporters on Monday.

Federal officials have confirmed that there will be a security fence for the pontiff’s Central Park jaunt.

The full list of banned items is as follows:

• Alcohol
• Aerosol containers
• Animals other than service/guide animals
• Bicycles, scooters or skateboards
• Blankets
• Backpacks, coolers or large bags
• Chairs
• Drones or other unmanned aircraft systems
• Flags, posters, balloons or signs and supports for signs and placards
• Glass, thermal or metal containers
• Laser pointers
• Mace/pepper spray
• Musical instruments or amplified sound devices
• Selfie sticks
• Unlicensed vending of any kind
• Umbrellas
• Weapons, explosives or ammunition of any kind

Attendees with tickets can check and go through security as early as 11 a.m. on Sept. 25but byno later than 3:30 p.m.
