There wasn’t even a discussion on dropping the transit park-and-ride fee from the current $3 to $1, as city council voted to not reconsider the motion.
“I think it’s an insult to the taxpayers of the city that we can’t openly discuss something as big as this is for the majority of Calgarians,” said Ward 3 Ald. Jim Stevenson.
For the motion to be reconsidered, eight votes were needed. The vote was 7-6, with Ald. Dale Hodges and Ald. Diane Colley-Urquhart not present.
“This is an important debate. Everybody should have been in their seat,” said Stevenson.
