Phil’s Seafood is a casual, friendly restaurant, a satisfying place for a quick lunch with top-notch fish and chips.

The menu offers various combinations of fish with chips or salads, all reasonably priced. My pal orders the Grilled Haddock and Salad. The haddock is lightly battered and tastes fresh. His requested spinach salad looks and tastes great — spinach, egg and mandarin orange with grated cheese over top.

I order the half-size Seafood Platter and request that instead of salad or fries, that I get some of each. The server doesn’t mind. My plate includes haddock, four shrimp and four scallops. The texture is perfect — nothing is overcooked — and everything tastes fresh. My Caesar Salad is tasty and the home-cut fries steaming hot.

There’s a large empty space by the front window, so considering every table is taken on this day, they may need another to reel in more fish fans.
