Like every Halloween, girls are going for sexy and guys are going for simple, according to a popular Calgary costume shop.
Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz are a few of the costumes flying off the shelves this year, says “Joe” from the Costume Shoppe.
“The girls like to be sexy, have cute short dresses, things like that. Some of them are, I guess you could say, very revealing,” Joe said.
As for the guys, superheroes and pirates are popular trends this year.
“Simple and easy is the better for the guys. They just like it basic, and superheroes can cover off a lot of different costumes.”
While Michael Jackson costumes are also a hit this year, The Costume Shoppe didn’t have any requests for another talked about news event this year — the balloon boy. “Nothing is too weird, we have heard it all, but nobody asked about that hoax.”
Sarah Arthur said she is keeping it simple this year, and going as a police officer. “It’s simple, sexy and fun,” she added.
