You’ve heard of naked yoga; now there’s naked Crossfit.
Spartan Mentality Crossfit in Aarhaus, Denmark, just launched a team for people who prefer to do their squats in the nude. The team’s meetings, which run on Sundays, started when Steffen Haldrup Andersen decided he wanted to inject some new life into the gym. Andersen said the gym got an elitist reputation after the chapter qualified European Championships for three consecutive years, so he wanted to liven up its image – it certainly has. The studly team has caught the attention of several gay blogs.
Andersen said he didn’t really think anyone would join his clothes-free team. “I was absolutely sure that people would say no,” he said. But 12 men showed up to join the occasional nudists. Andersen said he chose to carry out the publicity stunt in order to show that there was room for everyone at Crossfit and attract some newcomers.
Now, Andersen and his team lift weights and run naked on Sundays – and they don’t look bad doing it.
Andersen said though the team is open to everyone, they haven’t managed to attract any female members. Anyone want to take a trip to Denmark?
