NYC street closures map: West Indian Day Parade and Carnival 2015

Carnival time is here!

On Labor Day Brooklyn will celebrate its 48th Annual West Indian American Day Parade along Eastern Parkway.

The parade route will travel along Eastern Parkway beginning at 11 A.M featuring elaborate costumes and lots of food vendors in the area to serve-up tradional Caribbean dishes.

The parade and carnival will attract close to two million people.

If you plan on being in the area, it’s advised that you take public transportation.

The following streets will be closed on Saturday for theWest Indian American Day Carnival and Monday for theWest Indian American Day Parade and Festival/Labor Day Carnival Parade.

SATURDAY:

West Indian American Day Carnival

9 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Formation:

St. John’s Place and Kingston Avenue

Route:

St. John’s Place between Kingston Avenue and Franklin Avenue
President Street between Franklin Avenue and Washington Avenue

Dispersal:

At Brooklyn Museum Yard

LABOR DAY:

West Indian American Day Parade and Festival/Labor Day Carnival Parade

Monday from 11 am to 6 pm

Formation:

Buffalo Avenue between Eastern Parkway and East New York Avenue
Rockaway Parkway between East New York Avenue and Rutland Road
Ralph Avenue between Eastern Parkway and East New York Avenue
East New York Avenue between Howard Avenue and Utica Avenue

Parade route:

Eastern Parkway between Howard Avenue and Grand Army Plaza

Dispersal:

Flatbush Avenue between Grand Army Plaza and Caton Avenue

Miscellaneous street closures:

Ocean Avenue between Empire Boulevard and Parkside Avenue
Butler Place between Grand Army Plaza and Sterling Place
St. John’s Place between Underhill Avenue and Grand Army Plaza
