Despite the bass-heavy dissonance pounding as models walked the runway, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville’s spring collection had quiet grace.

Models in lightweight fabrics (soft chambray, liquid-like leather, and relaxed cotton) looked like urban nomads trekking the city (or escaping it!) in utilitarian, chic clothes. Essential for their trip: flowy, oversized anoraks, loose dresses, some worn over pants, and roomy trousers all in a neutral palette of white, black, indigo and ivory.

However, the accessories made the most noise. Models slung bags behind their backs the way a wise traveler or multi- tasking city girl might. And the slides, high-top sneakers and platforms screamed comfort– perfect for whatever journey she’s on.
