The NYPD beat the Boro Park Shomrim 24-9 in a security forcesoftball faceoffin Boro Park this week.
The Shomrim is a Hasidic and Haredi civilian patrol force in Brooklyn. Deputy Inspector Michael Deddo, the commanding officer at the 66th precinct in Boro Park, lauded them as “literally our partners in fighting crime in the [Boro Park] community.”
“Without them we wouldn’t be as successful,” Deddo said.
This is the fourth annual Greenfield Classic softball game organized by Boro Park Councilman David Greenfield.With this year’s NYPD victory, the two sides are tied 2-2 over the all-time series. Councilman David Greenfield, the organizer of the event, said he is “already looking forward to next year’s rematch.”
