One person is dead and three others are in the hospital after an off-duty NYPD officer—allegedly driving drunk—crashed his vehicle into pedestrians on a Williamsburg sidewalk Friday night.

Nicolas Badka, reportedly assigned to the Manhattan Transit Task Force, was arrested and charged with manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.

“It looked like the SUV swerved to not hit the cars across the street that were parked, and ran into the apartment building, and there was a group of like 8 people,” eyewitness Jaminah King told 7 ABC.

Bystanders rushed to the crash site to help those injured and also make sure the driver didn’t flee, according to the report.

One person captured video from moments after the crash:

Badka reportedly refused a breathalyzer test when police arrived.
