NYS2100 Commission releases report on future steps post-Sandy

The NYS2100 Commission appointed by Governor Cuomo after superstorm Sandy has submitted a preliminary report of recommendations to strengthen the State’s infrastructure against future natural disasters.

The 204-page report includes short- and long-term plans for energy, transportation, land use, insurance, and infrastructure financing, as well as steps to improve information systems and built and natural barriers. Some suggestions include investing in “green” solutions, and appointing a Chief Risk Officer to coordinate between State agencies.
