A hit-and-run driver killed an off-duty NYPD officer on the New Jersey Turnpike on Sunday.
Around 3 a.m. Sunday morning, a vehicle struck Officer Vincent Harrison, 25, after he had pulled over near Newark Liberty International Airport to talk to another driver about a minor accident, NBC reported. The driver that hit Harrison then left the scene.
New Jersey State Police told ABC that the hit-and-run driver was later located with the car that had hit Harrison. The Union Country Prosecutor’s Office is determining appropriate charges to potentially be filed against that driver.
