Offense clicking for Patriots

The Patriots are just two weeks into the preseason. That means they’re a long, long time from when game results mean much.

That doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot to be optimistic about in Foxborough.

New England’s defense has looked good through two exhibitions. And its offense? Ridiculous.

Going into last night’s games, the Pats had scored the most points of any team this preseason (78) by a fair margin. Their 429.5 ypg ranked second to the Redskins, and their third-down conversion percentage (54) topped the NFL.

Tom Brady, Ryan Mallett and Brian Hoyer have all looked good at QB. But the best news has been New England’s production at running back. BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Stevan Ridley and Richard Medlin have all averaged 3.9 yards per carry or better, with two touchdown runs apiece.
