Police told Fox 25 that the man had allegedly been harassing people in the area of Chelsea Street and Broadway outside Cancun restaurant, and that he approached officers with a knife when they arrived.

The man was shot after he allegedly ignored police commands to drop the knife, Fox 25 added. Witnesses disagreed over how many shots were fired by police.

The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at Massachusetts General Hospital, CBS Boston stated.
