One person is dead after a blaze took over a Brooklyn home Monday evening, according to reports.

The FDNY responded the fire at about 6 p.m. at a three-story home on Fenimore Street in Prospect Lefferts Garden, reported the New York Post.

Authorities declared one person dead at the scene while another resident suffered smoke inhalation.

According to NBC4 New York, seven firefighters were also injured, mostly from smoke inhalation, and were taken to Cornell Medical Center.

The two-alarm fire — which was extinguished over an hour later — reportedly started on the second floor and attic of the home.
