Much of Allston Village was cordoned off Sunday afternoon as police, firefighters and other emergency responders investigated suspicious packages on Brighton Avenue.

Police arrested one man in connection to the incident, a police spokesperson said Sunday. The suspect’s identity was not immediately made available.

HazMat teams converged on a building next to popular coffee spot Refuge Café. The public was ordered away from scene as cops set up a two-block safety zone. Police later cleared the area.

Cops on the scene said they were responding to a call around noon about a box with the word “napalm” on it that was left on the street at Brighton and Harvard avenues.

Police were preparing a report on the incident by press time.
