Police are looking for a fourth suspect in the shooting death of Yazden Ghiasi, sources familiar with the case say.
Ghiasi, 16, was shot and thrown out of a car Dec. 6, in a pot deal gone bad, said sources speaking on condition of anonymity.
Police charged Abdulhamid Wehbe, 20, with second-degree murder in Ghiasi’s death. Zakaria Dourhnou, 18, and Khaled Wehbe, 19 were charged as accessories after the fact.
Dourhnou and Wehbe will have a bail hearing Monday, their lawyers Mark Ertel and Stuart Konyer said. Both accused appeared relaxed during video court appearances yesterday.
Sources said Dourhnou and Wehbe were not alleged to be in the car at the time of the shooting.
Ottawa police would only say the investigation is “still unfolding, and depending on how it goes, there could still be more charges.”
Because of the nature of their charges Wehbe and Dourhnou must have their bail hearing in Superior Court before a judge. A publication ban will likely be sought on evidence presented at the proceeding, said Konyer.
