The Glada Hudik-theatre, a Swedish theater ensemble composed of actors with developmental disabilities, is performing “A Tribute to Elvis” this Saturday, June 5, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The one-night only musical, a hit in Sweden where more than 120,000 people have seen it, tells the story of Elvis’ life through a large cast of musicians, singers and actors performing many of his greatest hit songs.
The theater’s mission is to increase public awareness of mental disabilities and give greater opportunities to mentally disabled actors to perform and integrate with professional performers.
