One pedestrian was killed and another seriously injured Tuesday night after being struck by two cars on West 207th Street and Ninth Avenue while attempting to run across outside a painted crosswalk, the AP reports. Both victims were found in the street with trauma to both the head and body after Police say the driver of a Ford Explorer applied his brakes but could not stop in time resulting in both pedestrians were thrown across the road where they were then hit by a Toyota sedan. The drivers remained at the scene of the accidents until around 10 p.m. on Tuesday. One of the pedestrians, a 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at a hospital and the other, a 35-year-old man, was listed in serious condition. There names were not immediately released.
