A family has been displaced after a fire caused $325,000 in damages at a Parkwood Hills home Tuesday.
The fire broke out in a double detached garage at 40 Inverness Ave. just after 5 p.m. The garage was fully involved when fire crews arrived. The fire extended into the house through the rear wall and attic and caused $200,000 in damages to the building and $125,000 to contents.
The entire garage, as well as a vehicle and a boat, were destroyed. There was heavy smoke damage throughout the home.
The adjacent house at 42 Inverness Ave. suffered some exterior damage from the intense heat of the fire.
