Passport to Prana getting hip in Ottawa

Maybe it’s the blend of “urban, hip and metropolitan” and the “natural beauty” that makes yoga so popular in Ottawa. YuMee Chung isn’t sure.

But the co-founder of Passport to Prana does know that Ottawa is “a great up-and-coming yoga community.”

Passport to Prana —which gives card carriers a one-time entry into more than a dozen yoga studios in the region for little more than the price of a single walk-in class — is back, and Chung is sure this year will be even more successful than the last.

“It had a warm reception in Ottawa,” she said of the program. “There are a lot of active people here.”

The card, which is available at yoga studios and online, allows people to try different styles of yoga, said Chung.

“We’re making yoga available to everyone regardless of economic background,” she said.
