Patriots DeVante Parker NFL Trade Rumors Eagles Steelers

If it’s not clear by now, the Miami Dolphins are going full Sam Hinkie 76ers on the NFL right now. Right before their Monday night game against the Steelers, the Dolphins shipped out running back Kenyan Drake to Arizona in exchange for a conditional draft pick in 2020 (a sixth rounder that could become a fifth).

Wide receiver DeVante Parker looks like he’ll be the last Miami chip to be dealt as Chris Grier is collecting as much draft capital as humanly possible. Parker could be had for a relative song today, though, with the need for wide receiver greater than running back around the league we could see Parker’s trade price tag rise in the next few hours.

It’s unlikely that any team would need to relinquish more than a third round pick, however.

As we’ve discussed multiple times in this space over the last few weeks, the Patriots and Eagles are the two teams most likely to swing a deal for a WR on trade deadline day.

One new team that could emerge as a buyer today, though, are the Steelers – who still believe they have a shot at making the playoffs. Kevin Colbert needs to be worried about his job status moving forward, so he is not thinking long-term. Getting a team without Ben Roethlisberger to the postseason would give Colbert and coach Mike Tomlin a longer grace period, for sure.

The Steelers crave a receiver to put next to JuJu Smith Schuster as a 1A. Parker, who is a perfect second option in the passing game, would certainly fit the bill.
