Patriots fly high vs. rival Jets

Suddenly solid Patriots ‘D’ grounds their archrivals. Brady steps up after rare INT, even with Ochocinco failing to make noise again. Can’t argue with Green-Ellis’ strong performance.

What went right …

1. BJGE stars— It was BenJarvus Green-Ellis who got the Patriots on the board first, and it was Green-Ellis who sealed the deal for the Pats in the end with some big rushes to run out the clock. All in all, Benny rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns — a fine day, especially when combined with Tom Brady’s showing.

2. There’s that ‘D’ — The Jets aren’t really a great measuring stick, but you can’t do too much

complaining about the Pats defense this week. New York was held to three-and-out seven times in the game.

What went wrong …

1. Coulda, shoulda, woulda — Tom Brady targeted Aaron Hernandez nine times on Sunday, but one of those targets — what should have been a sure TD — ended up being a Jets interception. Brady’s pass to Hernandez in the closing seconds of the first half would have given them a 17-3 lead, but instead kept the Jets in it going into the second half.

2. No-show Cinco again this week — Out of all Brady’s receivers, Chad Ochocinco was targeted the least — just three times. He made two catches (23 yards) in the second quarter, and was never heard from again. On a day when many thought Wes Welker might be shut down, it was Ochocinco who didn’t make any noise — once again.
