Patriots topple Jets, 30-21, in key AFC East matchup

It’s shaping up to be a two-horse race for the AFC East title.

And shockingly, neither of those horses runs out of North Jersey wearing green.

The Patriots scored a 30-21 win over the Jets today, improving to 4-1 and moving into a tie atop the division with the surprising Buffalo Bills. Tom Brady passed for 321 yards in the victory, ignoring his first-ever home red zone interception to lead New England.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed for 136 yards and two TDs. The Pats defense had its rough spots, but did enough to slow down Mark Sanchez’s Jets attack.

Buffalo, meanwhile, upended the “Dream Team” from Philadelphia, 31-24, earlier in the day. Fred Jackson was the star there, running for 111 yards and catching six passes.

The Patriots scored 30 points for the 13th regular-season game in a row.
