Pharma company spends $25M in Moncton, N.B.

MONCTON, N.B. – McKesson Canada is spending $25 million in a bid to strengthen its distribution business in Moncton, N.B., the provincial government announced Friday.

The Montreal-based firm will employ about 90 people at the facility, which is expected to begin operating in the coming days, the government said.

“We are thrilled that the company has chosen to expand its operations and establish its Atlantic Canada regional office in Moncton,” Premier David Alward said in a statement.

The announcement comes a month after the company said it was moving its Halifax distribution centre to Moncton, citing that city’s more centralized location as an advantage.

Its other distribution centre in Atlantic Canada is in St. John’s, N.L.
