5-year-old autistic boy goes missing on New Year’s Eve

Police are frantically searching for a young autistic boy who they say went missing late Thursday night without shoes, socks or a coat.

The 5-year-old child was last seen about 11 p.m. running in the area of S. Aubrey Street and E. South streets and was not wearing the previously mentioned clothing.

Authorities added that the boy is autistic and may run off if approached. Anyone who comes in contact with him should keep him in sight and call 911 immediately.

Residents of the east side of Allentown are asked to check and re-check their properties, especially “porches, sheds, outdoor crawl-spaces, baker’s alleys, etc”
