After Drake comments, Meek Mill sets sights on Toronto city councillor

Holy smokes. The Twitter war continues.

A day after Philly hometown hiphop hero Meek Mill calledDrakea fake and accused him of not writing his own lyrics, Mill is throwing jabs at the Toronto politician who came to the Canadian singer’s defense.

“Aye white man @norm what gives you the audacity to tell me I can’t come somewhere over me voicing my opinion!” Mill tweeted at city councillorNorm Kelly. “U sound like a thug lol.”

Mill was responding to Kelly’s tweet,”You’re no longer welcome in Toronto, @MeekMill,” which was issued in defense of Toronto native Drake.

Kelly responded, “Aye American @MeekMill. Didn’t say don’t come. Just puzzled why you’d diss a Canadian hero a week before coming to his city.”

Indeed, Mill is scheduled to play a show on Tuesday in Toronto — the same night the Phillies will play the Blue Jays.

The grudge apparently arose after Drake did not tweet about Mill’s new album, “Dreams Worth More Than Money,” which Drake guested on.

Millalso saidthat Drake’s lyric for the album was ghostwritten.

“Stop comparing drake to me too…. He don’t write his own raps! That’s why he ain’t tweet my album because we found out!”Mill tweeted. “He ain’t even write that verse on my album and if I woulda knew I woulda took it off my album….. I don’t trick my fans!”

Drake fans have questioned that accusation. An image posted to Reddit notes that in the song “Ain’t Me,“Mill rapped:”You ain’t gotta like my s—, paid for the flow, I don’t write my s—,” which could be interpreted to mean Mill also pays for rhymes.

Mill fans have said that this lyric merelyreflects the assertion that a) Mill is paid to rap and b) he raps off the top of his head free-style, i.e. his lyrics are not written in advance.

Meanwhile, Vice Canada editor Patrick Mcquire was ecstatic over the Mill-Kelly interaction.

“Best Twitter day on record,” hetweeted, adding, later, emotionally,”holy s— tears of joy.”

Canadian Vice then went on to interview Kellyabout the fracas — and Kelly bullishly went even further, bringing upthe Phillies loss to the Blue Jays due to a walk-off home runin the ’93 World Series— which is still a sore spot given theJays mopped the floor with the Phillies just a year agoand the two teams will meet again next week.

“Dreams Worth More Than Money”saw its release delayed after Mill was ordered to jail by a Philly judge for a probation violation .
