“Police say a group of friends were out on the town for an early Patrick's Day celebration when they were approached by a man wearing a New Jersey Devils cap,” ABC Philly reported. “The man, who witnesses said appeared 'deranged,' asked the victim if he was a Philadelphia Flyers fan, then pulled out a knife and stabbed him at least once in the abdomen.”
The attacker then fled the scene and the unidentified 24-year-old victim was taken to Hahnemann Hospital where he died.
Police are currently investigating the incident and have not released any details regarding the suspect.
