Man struck by SEPTA train in Center City

A blind man fell on the tracks, according to news reports.

A man was struck and killed by a SEPTA train at theRace-Vine station late Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The incident involved a southbound train ontheBroad Street Line at about 4:30 p.m.,according to Philly Voice.

The 53-year-old man, who has not been identified, stumbled, hit a pole and fell on the tracks,NBC10reported. The man, who police said was blind, was pronounced dead on the scene.

SEPTA announced on Wednesday evening that service has been resumed at all Broad Street Line stations, but passengers might experience residual delays of up to 20 minutes.
