The incident happened on Thursday when the bus stopped in Patton Township around 1 p.m.

“According to the bus driver, Anthony Savage Sr., a passenger on the bus requested Savage open the restroom door. When Savage opened the door, located in the rear of the bus, the man fell out,” Centre Daily News reported.

“I turned the lock on the outside. I hit the handle down. As soon as I hit the handle down, the door busted open, and the guy fell out, right at my feet. He still had the syringe in his arm,” Savage explained.

Investigators do not believe foul play was involved, and they have not publicly identified him.

Megabus responded to the incident with the following statement:

“We are aware of the events. Megabus is fully cooperating with police. Our passengers were safely transferred onto another bus which is about to arrive at its destination in Pittsburgh. The safety of our passengers is our top priority.”
