PHOTOS: SkyGarten opens at Top of the Tower

SkyGarten, the much anticipated new beer garden by the folks that own Brauhaus Schmitz and Whetstone, will officially open their new 3,000 square foot indoor and outdoor space on the 51st Floor at 1717 Arch Street, tonight at 6 p.m. — tapping the opening keg and offering a free beer to everyone in attendance. The brand new spot is opened Wednesday through Sunday, and serves a selection of German-style small bites from Chef Jeremy Nolen which includes potato pancakes, brats and pretzel sticks. For drinks they have an eclectic cocktail menu by Beverage Manager Jesse Cornell, including locally sourced Double Nickel Pilsner, and three German draughts — Warsteiner Dunkel, Warstein Germany, the unfiltered Hofbrauhaus Sommerbier from Munich, and Schöfferhoffer Grapefruit Weizen via Frankfurt, Germany. Last night they had a preview party for folks attending Center City SIPS.
