Police release new clues in fatal Christmas Eve hit-and-run

Police today announced a headlight lens recovered from the scene of a fatal Northeast Philly hit-and-run helped them identify the make of the car in the accident.

Part of the vehicle’s left headlight broke off during the crash leading investigators to identify the car as possibly a ‘87 to ‘91 Ford pickup or tow truck, police announced at a press conference today, according to NBC.

Theresa Pozzi, 33, of Bella Vista, was struck by a truck while crossing State Road mid-block in Holmesburg to get to a bus stop last week at about 5:20 p.m. on Christmas Eve, police said.

Pozzi was brought to Aria Torresdale Hospital and pronounced dead about an hour later, police said.

The truck fled northbound.
