Police have released disturbing surveillance footage that shows two suspects rob a North Philly bodega with a weapon police identified as an AR-15 rifle.

The two masked suspects, one of whom pointed the rifle at the store clerk, reportedly took $500 from the at 24th and West Clearfield streets store around 8:40 p.m. last Thursday before fleeing the store.

No injuries were reported.

The Northwest detective squad is investigating the case.

The suspects are described as two black males, about 19 to 20 years old. One was about 5’11” with an orange-hooded sweatshirt, a thin build, and armed with what appears to be an AR-15. The other was about 6 feet tall with a medium build, wearing all dark clothing.

Tipsters can call 215-686-TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP (773847).

The AR-15 is a military grade rifle with many variants. Newtown school shooter Adam Lanza used a Bushmaster AR-15 during the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
