Remember when Pope Francis was in town and streets in Center City were closed to traffic for several glorious days? That was pretty cool, right? There’s a local organization, Open Streets PHL, that’s working to bring car-free events to Philly streets at least once a month, but it needs funds and—most important—a big show of support to make its cause a reality. This week, it’s hosting a fundraiser at the PHS Pop-Up Garden at Viaduct Rail Park, where supporters can talk all things open streets over beer, cocktails and light bites from the big orange bar. No cars allowed.
